"Hello everyone. I’m Carol Kent and I’m thrilled to invite you to the 2027 Pocono Prayer

Breakfast. It’s going to be a morning filled with encouragement, interaction, community, faith,

inspiration, and most of all, prayer.

I’m highly honored to be this year’s guest speaker. I’ll be sharing the hope-filled choices all of

us need to make when the life we expected turns out differently from what we anticipated. Some

of you may know my story from reading the books, When I Lay My Isaac Down and A New Kind

of Normal. Or, you may have watched details of our family’s unexpected circumstances when

Dateline NBC, the television news magazine, featured what happened.

I go to the prayer breakfast to join other leaders to network but also share our beliefs. I feel energized and clear afterwards to go about my daily work life. Hearing the speakers talk about their lives makes me think about my life; thinking of ways I can be more positive and a role model for my coworkers and peers.

The Pocono Prayer Breakfast is a beautiful reminder of the power of faith and community. Each year, I leave feeling inspired and grateful to be part of something that brings us all together in hope and prayer.
